Dr. Deshwar is the co-founder and CTO of Kerna labs, an AI-powered drug discovery company developing novel mRNA therapeutics. Prior to Kerna Labs, he was the Senior Vice President and Head of Platform at Deep genomics where he developed machine learning models of molecular phenotypes. Before that, he worked at Google where he built a highly distributed log parsing system and power supply firmware that enabled coordinated reductions in peak power consumption. His Ph.D. is from the University of Toronto, where he studied machine learning for oncology, and built tree-structured Bayesian nonparametric models for untangling the complex biology of intra-tumor heterogeneity.
